Diablo III, Exploiter's Edition, just kidding.
Everyone that reads this, knows that I am a massive fan of gaming. Well a few days, I saw a few people posting about an exploit that had cropped up within the game. I was extremely curious as to what this was (not with the intention to exploit it), I thought it was just going to be a minor glitch or something, nothing too serious...
Boy... Was I wrong?
Yes I was. It turns out this exploit allowed people to farm multitudes and multitudes of blood shards (a semi-rare in game currency). The debatable famous streamer MannerCookie felt Blizzard's full wrath of their ban hammer as he had his Diablo 3 account completely closed.
Closing of the account: here
Blizzard's responses on the forums were:
"If your goal is to report hacks and exploits, or other types of exploitative behavior, there are tools both in-game and outside the game (as referenced in my previous post) which are far better suited to this purpose.
All that said, this is really not the place to discuss what account actions should be taken against which individuals. Since that's the direction this thread is headed, I'll be locking it up.""The bottom line is that name shaming (of any kind) isn’t appropriate for these forums. It doesn't result in constructive dialogue, no matter how well-intentioned an OP might be, and instead works to tear down the community."
In addition to people receiving bans, people are also having all kinds of their progression rolled back.
