Guild Wars 2: first impressions of the new Lion's Arch, wings and more

Hello readers!
The patch for today has just gone live and it couldn't be more fabulous!

Images have been uploaded below!
What have we been requesting and waiting for? That's right, the new Lion's Arch. What does this feature? What's new? Find out below...

Lion's Arch
So on my first visit to Lion's Arch, I realise that the first thing I notice when I log in, is that there is a new cutscene inside of LA; this cutscene gives players a quick tour of what is new in LA.  Which leads me onto my second point of today!

Floors and walls:
Lion's arch is no longer wooden and plank. The bridges have been rebuilt into this lovely stone; creamy in colour. They have completely redesigned the LA and do you know what the best part of this is? Players got to take part in the events of this, they had the chance to vote which type of LA they would want to be restored in the game.

New fountains:
I know this may seem insignificant and small but new fountains have also been added to the new LA - if you are entering LA straight after the cutscene, it will take you to a place where there are 4 fountains throwing water from one to another.

Directional guards:
This is pretty simple to explain! There are now a few guards scattered around LA and you can go to them, talk to them and ask for directions to specific places. This is a really positive feature in try to make things nice and simple for new players and returning players to use.

White wings & updated animation of black wings:
As we all know, there was recently a whole craze about the leaked black wings that went on sale a few months ago; yesterday, on Dulfy.net there was some datamined information about a new set of wings that were coming to bless us. These are the white version wings.

These wings also featured some new stuff; the quality of the design has been dramatically increased and they are now not as immobile as they originally were. They now flow freely as your character moves around, falls off of a cliff and even dances around.

Conclusion;
I absolutely love it. They could have spent a few seconds just copying and pasting the old LA back into the place of the destroyed one, but instead, they got the community involved with their ideas and thoughts about what should be the new LA and it only makes me love ArenaNet even more!

Keep it up guys, it looks amazing, my Incinerator no longer clips with the wings. This just keeps getting better and better the longer that I am logged in!

P.S. I will write about the specialisation changes when I have tested them out myself! :)
