Wildstar; Free-to-play!

Hello readers,
It's pretty obvious what I'm going to say next, purely because of the title. Wildstar has released a video which details that the game will be heading for free to play in fall.

What does this mean?
This means that the game will no longer have a subscription requirement and you won't even need to purchase the core game. So it literally means, once you buy the game, you can log in whenever without having to pay another extra £.

What if I want to play now?
If you wish to play now then the core game is relatively cheap.
Amazon: £13.50
They also have regular discounts on their website which allows new players to jump in on the action fairly quickly. Be cautious, Wildstar falls out of the 'typical MMO' category as it has a completely different and compelling combat system which makes the overall game play quite hard towards end of the gear tree. If you don't want to wait, you can pick it up. Otherwise, just sit tight until fall!

What types of accounts will be offered when the game goes Free-to-Play?
There will two main types of account when the game transitions to Free-to-Play:
- Free accounts get full access to the game. There is no recurring payment of any kind required.

- Signature accounts get everything provided by the Free service, along with the unique bonuses and benefits detailed below. Signature accounts require a payment plan offered in 1-, 3-, 6-, and 12-month increments including C.R.E.D.D., Game Time Card, or recurring payments.

Free trials?
You can start a free trial just to see how you like the game and whether the style is for you. I'd urge anyone to try a game at least once - and I do believe that people should try this. I personally no longer have the time to dedicate myself to multiple games and hardcore raiding but I would recommend this game to anyone that is willing.

Some people have expressed a very reasonable concern. The community of Wildstar, I believe has been one of the cleanest communities in quite some time. I did some end game stuff, a bit of raiding and enjoyed it. The overall reaction of the community to a new player was absolutely warming, however, with free to play we all know too well that this can lead to an extremely toxic community and is really cancerous amongst free to play games. Games like League of Legends and Path of Exile are prime examples of a real shitty community.

Finally, I think Wildstar will be a great addition to anyone's MMO collection, it's new, refreshing and extremely fun to play once you give it a chance. If you have played Guild Wars 2, then you will see the same type of combat system; whilst it is refreshing and new, it also poses quite a difficult and sharp learning curve. This is what makes it all more exciting to try out. Not to mention the graphics that it offers are absolutely different from the typical MMO.
